Settlers House York
We are proud to be officially recognised as a "Veteran Owned Business" and pride ourselves on being a supportive, friendly environment for both our current and ex-service personnel.
"Settlers House York" is situated in the Avon Valley Wheatbelt town of York. York is an historic town being the oldest inland town in Western Australia and is located 85km from the Perth airport and 100km from the Perth CBD. The original "Settlers" tavern building was constructed around the year 1845 and has had many uses over the years, including a Temperance Hotel, The Eastern Chronical newspaper printing press and it was a Cobb & Co stop during the Goldfields gold rush days.
The current owners, Brian & Elaine Huddy, Elaine being a long term York resident, purchased "Settlers" in 2015. The building had been closed for over 2 years and it was a massive task to re-invent its use as the tavern it is today.
"Settlers" is wonderfully positioned in the middle of the York CBD making it the ideal location for your stay in our pictureque town. We are the live music centre of the Avon Valley, boasting an array of live music every weekend that the weather allows. We are perfectly located for a leisurely walk throughout town where you can explore various antique stores, gift shops, art and craft shops and the well renowned York Motor Museum. Stroll along to the Avon River to Avon Park and its historic swinging bridge and take the river walk path to experience native trees and bird life.
A short drive to The Residency Museum and Mount Brown lookout is a must. York sunsets are amazing and the lookout is a fantastic vantage point to take in the spectacular colours.
